Medion has cut the price of its Akoya Mini E1210 Small, Cheap Computer, making it the cheapest rebadged MSI Wind in the UK.

Just about, at any rate. Medion today said from now on UK grocer Sainsbury's will be charging £279 for the E1210, though we notice that's also what Medion itself has priced the SCC at on its own online store.

The new price point puts the E1210 at 99p less than the Advent 4211, the retailer formerly known as Dixons' rebranded Wind.

But the Medion deal is better than it sounds: the E1210 incorporates 802.11n Wi-Fi, while the 4211 is limited to 802.11b/g. But the 4211 does have Bluetooth 2.0.

Other specs are the same. Both sport a 10.2in, 1024 x 600 display; 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor; 1GB of DDR 2 memory; 80GB hard drive; three USB 2.0 ports; and 10/100Mb/s Ethernet.
