Samsung L201 offers cut-price, basic snapping
Samsung has unveiled the latest addition to its L series of compact cameras. And although the L201 lacks any unique features, it includes everything you’d want from a basic shooter.
Samsung's L201: sports 10.2 megapixels
The 10.2-megapixel compact camera has a reasonably sized 2.7in LCD display that Samsung states sits within a “slim metal body design” which has a white band running around the top, bottom and sides. So, it’s fair to assume that Samsung’s targeting the camera at those who value a camera’s looks as much as photographic quality.
A 3x optical zoom lens is built into the shooter and the highest ISO sensitivity available is 1600. Motion JPEG format video can be recorded at up to 30 frames per second.
A red-eye correction feature is included alongside a pre-set array of image conditions. Face detection, digital image stabilisation, and auto contrast and balance adjustment should also help ensure yours snaps are well framed and correctly exposed.
Samsung’s L201 is available in several body colours, including pink, turquoise and “lime green”. The camera will be available in the UK next month for £130 (€160/$260).
