Shoecam man accused of filming up women's skirts
It's a wrap...
A Melbourne man was today accused of using a tiny video camera embedded in the toe of his shoe to look up women's skirts on the city's buses, trains and trams - and admitted doing so for the last four years, local police claimed.
The 20-year-old man was caught on a tram yesterday after police received complaints from a female passenger who'd spotted his hand-held video recorder, the Sydney Morning Herald reports. Once apprehended, the man was discovered to have a cable running from the recorder down one of the legs of his trousers to the shoecam.
Police later visited the man's home and seized photographs, videos and photographic equipment.
Officers said they have "a lot" of material to go through in order to attempt to identify the man's many alleged victims. The man is expected to be charged with stalking, the paper said. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison. ®
