Watch here: Rethinking enterprise analytics with experts from Sumo Logic and Team Register

How to turn your data into valuable business insights

Sponsored webcast The arrival of cloud, 5G, the internet of things, and a proliferation of increasingly complex application environments has generated an ever-growing volume of data that can make mere IT mortals feel overwhelmed by a tsunami of machine data. The velocity, volume, variety and veracity factors must be factored into how companies can sift through all their data and turn it into clear insights that benefit their business and advance its goals.

Traditional infrastructure (e.g private, public, hybrid, and multi-cloud) are complex and costly to manage, and the obvious answer for many is advanced data analytics. The challenge is finding the solution that offers a cost-efficient, fast, and flexible approach to analysing business data from on-premise, hybrid, multi-cloud or native workloads – in a way that suits the individual needs of the company, and provides real-time insights across the entire application lifecycle and stack.

In our webinar we consider how organisations should rethink the way they see analytics so that their data becomes a valuable source of information on which decisions can be made – rather than an unmanageable burden.

The Reg’s Jon Collins speaks to Colin Fernandes, director of product marketing at analytics company Sumo Logic, and Clive McDonald, head of Sumo’s EMEA sales engineering team, about their experiences in the field, while Tony Lock of Freeform Dynamics adds pearls of wisdom gleaned from his company’s research.

The topics under discussion include:

  • The first steps: understanding what data you have and how you can use it
  • Bringing company silos together so they share tools and expertise
  • Using analytics to provide data security and proper governance
  • How analytics is not just for the likes of Uber or Airbnb but small companies too

Bringing in examples from Sumo’s caseload, such as Channel 4, which wanted to improve playback reliability and gain real-time insights, the panel shows how analytics democratises data, making it accessible to human beings and turning it into a valuable asset that drives the business forward.
