Hyperconverged benchmark

VMware's cooked up a benchmark for hyperconverged infrastructure running vSphere.

The tool is called HCIBench and billed as “an automation wrapper around the popular and proven VDbench open source benchmark tool that makes it easier to automate testing across a HCI cluster.”

“The tool fully automates the end-to-end process of deploying test VMs, coordinating workload runs, aggregating test results, and collecting necessary data for troubleshooting purposes.”

VMware says HCIBench will do a fine job on its own VSANs, but could also test any other hyperconverged infrastructure running vSphere.

The tool is a “Fling”, VMware's name for useful-but-unsupported code that it thinks users will appreciate. ®
