The digital workplace: Just in reach or over the hill?

Join us to compare vision and reality

Reg Events What will be the biggest bugbear in your professional life over the next few months? Managing an across the board operating system or application upgrade to Microsoft’s latest offering? Or dealing with an array of end-user devices, running multiple operating systems, most of which rarely come through the doors of head office?

The answer, we suspect, is both. Most of us operate in a heterogeneous world now, spanning the cloud and on-premise, a mix of OSs and form factors, and multiple suppliers.

That’s why on October 12, we’ll be gathering a select group of senior IT leaders, to discuss the changing nature of end user computing at a Register Roundtable, sponsored by HPE.

We’ll start by doing some visioning on the digital workplace of the future, and talk about how the focus needs to shift from desktops and devices to users and infrastructure.

Along the way, we’ll touch on the practicalities of making the shift happen - not just the kind of technology platforms needed to create a modern and open environment, but how to manage changing expectations and keep the broader range of stakeholders happy. Wrapped up in all this are the "interesting" questions of ownership, budgeting and decision-making.

The event is being sponsored by HPE, but it’s your experiences and opinions we want to hear.

We’ll be meeting at a central London Hotel on October 12 at 3pm. The formal discussion will last 90 minutes, and then we’d like you to join us to continue the conversation informally over fine wine and cocktails. The whole event will be conducted under the Chatham House Rule.

We’ll be keeping the numbers down to no more than 12, but please register your interest below and we'll be in touch to let you know if you've secured a place. If you don’t make the list for this event, don’t worry, we’ll make sure you’re on the list for future events.
