Acronis beats Veeam

Independent research firm Network Testing Labs says Acronis Backup 2012 runs at twice the speed of Veeam Availability Suite 9.0.

The comparative test of these backup and restore products used the same test scenario. The results showed that Acronis backs up and restores data far faster than Veeam – two times faster for some datasets and from 1.6 to 1.7 times faster for others.

Network Testing Labs found that Acronis Backup 12 did faster restores than VAS 9.0, from 60 per cent to 100 per cent faster with Recovery Time Objectives that are 43 per cent shorter, depending on the testing scenario.

It says Acronis Backup 12 supports physical, virtual and cloud computing environments while VAS 9.0 works in virtual environments and has limited end point support. ®
