FireEye probes Clinton foundation hack: Reports

Hillary Clinton's charitable foundation has hired security colossus FireEye to investigate a possible breach, Reuters reports.

The foundation has not confirmed the reports based on sources familiar with the investigation.

It is reported attackers gained access to the foundation's network through targeted phishing attacks.

Reuters reports the hackers used the same techniques as suspected Russian attackers in the breach of Demoncratic Party groups.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the U.S. officials said the hackers used the same techniques Russian intelligence agencies or their proxies employed against the Democratic Party groups, which suggests that Russians also attacked the foundation.

FireEye says it does not discuss clients. ®
