YouTube now 97% secure

YouTube has revealed that two years of effort to encrypt its traffic has seen it apply HTTPS to 97 per cent of cat vids.

The streamer says the sheer quantity of video it serves, plus the sheer quantity of devices people view it on, has made it necessary to do lots of testing.

The three per cent of unencrypted content is attributed to devices that don't support HTTP. That's a tough nut to crack even for Google. ®
