Apple wants your organs

Apple is throwing its weight behind an effort to register more people as organ donors.

The Cupertino iMaker says that the upcoming iOS 10 release will include a new Health App that will allow folks to sign up to donate their organs, eyes and tissue.

The move is a nod to late Apple founder Steve Jobs, who gamed the system to get a liver transplant in 2009 after years of battling the effects of pancreatic cancer. Prior to the operation, CEO Tim Cook offered to give jobs a piece of his own liver. ®
