Google medical search

Hypochondriacs rejoice! Google has added medical symptoms to its search lookup.

The Chocolate Factory says that Google will now provide medical suggestions when users query symptoms. When the user searches for a symptom such as "headache," Google will now suggest possible causes or treatments, as well as possibly pointing out when a user should seek medical attention.

"We worked with a team of medical doctors to carefully review the individual symptom information, and experts at Harvard Medical School and the Mayo Clinic evaluated related conditions for a representative sample of searches to help improve the lists we show," Google said.

Google notes that the medical search feature should be used only for reference, and users should seek advice from an actual doctor if they are concerned or unsure about symptoms. ®
