Cisco will add IBM's artificial intelligence product Watson to its routers as part of an internet of things deal, announced Thursday.
No money will change hands, but sales teams from both companies will work together to push each others' technologies. The idea is that Cisco routers and switches will host Watson, and so collect and provide IoT analytics data that will then be passed on to IBM's cloud network.
They are targeting companies operating in places with limited bandwidth, such as oil rigs, factories and shipping companies. ®
