Sainsbury's hires devs

Sainsbury’s is recruiting 150 devs, engineers and DevOps people.

The UK’s second largest retailer, which is increasingly competing online against Amazon and more digital-savvy retail peers and buying Home Retail Group for £1.3bn, will hire software developers, software development managers, DevOps engineers and Agile coaches to join its 900-strong IT team.

The new batch will join Sainsbury's second largest tech centre in Manchester and the move follows the addition of 480 digital and IT workers to its centres in London and Coventry.

Digital and technology director John Rudoe said the goal is to build a “world class digital and technology function." ®
