Apple ends Siri patent suit

Apple will pay $25m to settle a lawsuit over its Siri assistant.

The iOS personal assistant was accused of violating a patent licensed by Dynamic Advances.

Under the terms of the deal, Apple will pay Dynamic Advances (and the patent holder, Rensellaer Polytechnic Institute) $25m in licensing fees, in exchange for the infringement case being dropped. Apple will also get a license to the patent for the next three years. ®
