Google Euro-cloud glitch

European users of Google's BigQuery had a fretful Wednesday, as the cloud aspirant's service experienced a lengthy partial inability to support optimal performance (PITSTOP).

Google says the problem was something to do with “streaming inserts to datasets located in the EU.” For a while, data landed in the service but that wasn't apparent to users.

The incident ran for 12 hours and fourteen minutes and Google now says “Affected customers will be notified directly in order to assess any potential lingering impact.” The alphabet subsidiary also promises “more detailed analysis of this incident once we have completed our internal investigation.”
