Hashicorp redraws Atlas interface, isolates tools, polishes price list

Debuts improved Nomad too. Be still, our fluttering hearts!

App delivery firm Hashicorp has given its Atlas application delivery platform a wash and brushup, and thrown in an overhaul of its pricing plan to boot.

The platform’s UI has been given “clearer navigation and organizational elements” and “consistent design elements across all portions of Atlas”.

HashiCorp said the look and feel will be familiar to users of the websites for its open source tools.

At the same time, it said that while the user experience had been designed around the entire Atlas feature set, the new interface would better cater for users just using a subset, as “tool-specific features of Atlas receive extra focus for customers using those tools in isolation”. For users of the full-fat range, nothing changes.

The tool by tool approach has been extended to the pricing as well, with Atlas now available – and priced – “product-by-product”.

Because HashiCorp doesn’t publish pricing details, it’s hard to see exactly what the impact will be, but its blog posting covering the changes assures us that customers will have received an email outlining the impact.

In the meantime, customer agreements in place as of March 8, will be unaffected by pricing changes for six months.

At the same time, “Customers whose monthly bill decreases under the new pricing plans will be automatically converted during the next billing cycle. Customers whose monthly bill increases will remain grandfathered under their current plan.”

Meanwhile, HashiCop has debuted the 0.3 release of Nomad, its cluster management and schedule for microservice and batch workloads. It highlighted new features including periodic jobs, log rotation and file system APIs and job queues.

The next release will features support for persistent volumes across all supported drivers, support for multiple network interfaces and more flexible IP allocation, and enhancements to the logging subsystem. ®
