ESET slurps up UK-based crypto firm DESlock+
Somerset heritage means combined firm will come down hard on data scrumping
Security firm ESET has snapped up UK-based data encryption firm DESlock+. Terms of the deal, announced on Tuesday, were not disclosed.
DESlock+, based in Taunton, UK, specialises in advanced encryption solutions and first partnered with ESET two years ago. The DESlock+ team of 12 employees was led by managing director David Tomlinson, who now becomes the manager of ESET’s newly created Encryption Business Unit.
ESET plans to integrate DESlock+ technology across its broad portfolio of consumer and business products.
DESlock+ has developed a range of full disk and removable media encryption products, as well as key management technology. Its technology roster includes web browser-based secured remote management, a mobile edition for iOS and a portable client, DESlock+ Go, which allows secure data access on workstations without DESlock+ installed.
