El Reg unfurls awe-inspiring Integrated Space Plan megagraphic

That's one small step for a man, but we need one giant wall to hang it on

We're delighted to report that we at Special Projects Bureau HQ have just taken delivery of the updated version of the famous Integrated Space Plan (ISP), although we're not quite sure if we have a wall space big enough to accommodate the breathtaking scope of its vision.

Katarina behind the ISP

Following a successful tin-rattle down at Kickstarter, Integrated Space Analytics produced a reimagined version of the 1980s original, created by Ron Jones at Rockwell International.

There's a bigger version of the original here, which includes this blurb:

The Rockwell Integrated Space Plan (ISP) is a very long range systematic perspective of America’s and the Western World’s space program. Its 100-plus year vision was created from the integration of numerous NASA long range studies…The ISP is not meant to be a definitive plan for the development of space, but rather a compilation of evolutionary opportunities for our near-term and long-range space activities.

Whereas the old ISP featured rather optimistic predictions, such as humanity beginning to transition from "a terrestrial to a solar species" by 2030, the rejig is more modestly hopeful that by that date we might have established a "Lunar Permanent Presence". Mind you, it does predict an Earth/space elevator being operational some time after 2070, and initial Mars terraforming by 2100.

Elon Musk recently suggested nuking the Red Planet in preparation for human colonisation, and co-incidentally his deep pockets may be vital to the realisation of our own Integrated Space Plan:
