Hungry Apple fanbois can now buy a lunch date with Tim Cook

Tim Cook, Apple CEO, is auctioning off an opportunity to join him for lunch at Apple Headquarters in Cupertino, along with a pair of VIP passes to an Apple keynote.

The lunch is in support of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, and follows Cook's announcement that he will develop a "systematic approach to philanthropy rather than simply writing cheques."

The winning bidder is allowed to bring along a guest, though both will be subject to security screening, and the "experience", as it is being described, will last for "approximately one hour" - although at least the cost of the meal is included.

Online auction site Charitybuzz, which is flogging off the meal with the fruity chief, stated: "We expect all winning bidders and their guests to conduct themselves appropriately when attending an experience won at Charitybuzz. Polite manners and respect for the generous donor and adherence to any rules or parameters are a must."

Cook was ranked #1 on Fortune magazine’s 2015 list of the World’s Greatest Leaders, and in 2014 he was named Person of the Year by the Financial Times.

The leading bid for the auction, which will close on May 6, stands at $165,000 at the time of writing. It is expected to rise. ®
