Taylor Swift snaps up EVEN MORE pr0n domain names

ICANN quietly lets slebs and big biz snap up new gTLDs

Not content with her recent purchase of ItaughtTaylorSwiftHowToGiveHead.com, heartthrob chanteuse Taylor Swift has been busy registering more porn domain names, most recently TaylorSwift.porn and TaylorSwift.adult.

The latest buys are part of a public sale by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), which will expand the number of generic top-level domains (gTLDs) available to the world.

According to CNN, Swift was one several select people and companies to get first refusal on some of the more controversial domains. The public sale will begin on June 1.

The advance sale will likely be viewed as a pre-emptive opportunity for brands to stop trolls claiming their trademarked names.

Stuart Lawley, CEO of ICM Registry, told the news site that Microsoft has already registered Office.porn and Office.adult.

The registration of ITaughtTaylorSwiftHowToGiveHead.com last month was sparked by Swift's lawyers threatening the owner of ITaughtTaylorSwift.com, who in fact taught Swift how to play guitar.

Swift's legal team accused her guitar teacher of infringing her trademark. The dispute prompted them to register a whole range of other "I Taught Taylor Swift" domains, including one about being taught how to give oral sex. ®
