Dell veteran and former channel overlord O'Shea quits
20 years at any company is enough for one man
The one-time sales chief of Dell’s Brit and Irish channels who stepped aside in a structural overhaul last summer has quit the organisation, The Channel can reveal.
Company veteran Bill O’Shea left the exec sales director and GM for the UK commercial channel role in August last year, and Steve Holmes, who was UK channel director from April, filled his shoes.
Insiders reckon O’Shea was put on special projects but not given a permanent berth - his LinkedIn page places him in the same channel position he left all those months ago.
UK veep Tim Griffin told us that after two decades on board, O’Shea had “made the decision” to leave the organisation and “pursue new opportunities”.
“Bill was a valuable member of the Dell team and held many roles over the years, most recently as UK Executive Director for Channel, and then as a member of the UK leadership team supporting the Private, Large, Commercial Corporations business.”
O’Shea told us he left last week on good terms and was looking for his next employer in tech, “I made the decision it was time to do something different outside of Dell.”.
He landed at the Texan tech baron in 1994 as a sales associate and during the subsequent years was sales director in the UK, the Benelux region and marketing director for EMEA. O’Shea took on the channel role in 2010. ®
