Logicalis tap up software developer, buys majority stake
Integrator grabs bitesize piece of mobile app and Wi-Fi services space
This hands Logicalis, part of the Datatec stables, the “exclusive” rights to the minnow’s proprietary software-based WiFi platform and some services.
The plan is to sell ituma’s mobile apps and services such as 3D in-location navigation, and dish out product promotions and omni-channel retail ordering for Logicalis mid-market/ enterprises customers.
Slough-based integrator Logicalis will fire up its sales force to resell licenses and expects the deal to also drag through more infrastructure orders.
In a PR blurb, the wonderfully named Jens Montanana, CEO at Datatec, said Wi-Fi enabled-services is an growing element of the global wireless data market.
The software platform “has the potential to support increases in annuity, services and infrastructure revenues across multiple territories in which Logicalis operates,” the chief added.
ituma was founded in 2010 and no public record of its financials are available. The fee Logicalis paid for the 51 per cent stake was not disclosed. ®
