Enormo reseller Insight seeks experienced sales hands for City pad

Sets up shop in Square Mile to give corporate punters better servicing

Headhunters will be on red alert after Insight confirmed plans to establish a sales outpost in the City in a bid to snuggle up to existing and potential corporate customers.

The firm has rented some space from an unspecified service delivery partner in Aldgate to rub shoulders with Kelway, Misco, Softcat, Computacenter and many other channel giants.

"We are proactively recruiting now to get experienced, proven sales people into that City office," Emma de Sousa, Insight veep for the UK and Ireland told The Channel.

Insight counts a number of financial institutions as customers including Barclays, HSBC and Thompson Reuters, all based in Canary Wharf.

De Sousa said it has good ties to financial services clients and across the wider corporate world and "getting closer to them physically" will oil those relations, and win new local accounts.

She reckons the satellite sales branch can get Insight better access to C-level decision makers - biz people with a C in their title - and boost sales productivity in the Square Mile.

A "small team" will be recruited in the first instance but the current thinking at Insight is to rent its own premises when the team is up and running.

A source at one City-based channel biz told us, "Everyone is going back into the City. Am I surprised about Insight? Not really, to attract the best people you need to be there."

"Anyone of any consequence realises that be to credible [with customers in the City] you need a central London office," he added. ®
