Exit stage left: Two more Insight big cheeses clear their desks

EMEA marketing director and global sales veep cut and run

Change remains the order of the day at Insight Enterprises after it emerged that another couple of senior figures are on the way out.

It has been confirmed that EMEA marketing director Ashley Gatehouse and veep of global sales Frank Bitoun are walking in the footsteps of other execs who have recently been made redundant.

Sources told us that decision makers stateside are restructuring to cut costs, matching the leaner trading environment.

The departures were confirmed in a note sent to staff, seen by The Channel, that stated the EMEA marketing function is to be discontinued.

Gatehouse was offered the UK marketing director role as the regional teams "transfer into the local country organisations and leaders".

The note stated Gatehouse has decided to "not to pursue this opportunity". As a result, Justin Griffiths, veep of product management EMEA will lead UK marketing.

Gatehouse landed at Insight in 2008 as director of software licensing and moved up the organisation become sales director, and marketing head.

At the same time, senior figure Bitoun who during his half a decade at Insight was boss of France, regional veep for southern Europe and most recently veep of global sales is also off.

This has been six months of change at Insight since EMEA president Stuart Fenton quit in April. Other senior figures to leave recently included EMEA sales veep Tony Brooker, enterprise sales director Gary Butters and IT services director Tom Nesbit.

Insight has replaced Fenton with former Microsoft exec Wolfgang Ebermann, who will have his work cut out when he starts in January.

Calendar Q3 numbers for the reseller giant showed sales of $1.15bn, down three per cent year-on-year and a net profit of $15m compared to $19.3m. ®
