Channel veteran Simon Aron rocks up at Viadex

Former Eurodata joint chief added to board

Former Eurodata joint chief Simon Aron is back in the channel after joining the board of infrastructure reseller Viadex.

Aron and former business partner Des Lekerman sold Eurodata in 2011 to Trinity Expert Systems. Aron has since made investments in several small tech start-ups and Lekkerman injected cash into The Internet Group.

"I've joined as a non-exec director helping with the management structure and the move into services," Aron told us.

In the year to 30 June 2012, Viadex turnover bounced from £17.87m to £26.3m, profit before tax also leaped from £391,000 to £728,450.

The Surbiton-based firm makes a living from selling server, storage, and networking kit, as well as virtualisation software to corporate, SME and educations customers.

"The business is profitable," said Aron. "We are simply putting more structure in there so it can expand." ®
