Cisco's Hens to sink teeth into worldwide distribution
From American field ops to global domination of wholesalers
Cisco has rejigged the chairs at its top table, with exec Julie Hens being made veep of worldwide distribution.
The move was confirmed by Edison Peres, senior veep of worldwide channels, in a blog post yesterday, weeks after previous distie boss Scott Brown was made chief of Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China.
The distribution line-up, which has seen relatively few changes from the networking giant in recent years, transacts some $13bn globally each year and is thus a vital cog in Cisco's supply chain.
"We need a strong leader to continue the tradition of programmes and relationships we've established with our key distribution partners," said Peres.
Hens is a 14-year Cisco veteran who started out in sales and field operations in the Service Provider Sales organisation, before hitching herself to the Americas' distie wagon in 2005 and becoming a veep of that unit in 2008.
"In fact, since 2005, US distribution sales have increased nearly 100 per cent," added Peres. ®
