Ex-Computacenter bigwig O'Hara now Colt big gun

Former Computacenter big hitter Julie O'Hara has been lured to Colt as veep for services and solutions.

She left London-based CC in February after 15 years at the firm, most recently as director for the unit managing financial services and retail customers. Her exit resulted in a rejig of the UK sales floor.

The move is hardly surprising as it sees her team up again with former fellow CC bigwig Simon Walsh, who swapped the MD's office at the services-based reseller for the top job at Colt in December 2010.

Walsh, exec veep of Colt, said in a PR blurb that O'Hara's experience in the managed services field made her an "important addition to our senior leadership team".

The firm dropped the telecom element of its brand in 2010 as it began its attempt to build a business that is less reliant on voice and more grounded in cloud services.

In 2011, Colt saw turnover slip 1.9 per cent to €1.55bn due to falling sales of its traditional voice business, down 7.7 per cent to €563m. The Data and Managed Services units grew 0.5 per cent and 7.9 per cent respectively to €805.1m and €186.2m.

O'Hara will also follow in the footsteps of CC's former storage big cheese Matthew Yeager, now chief technologist at Colt. ®
