Distie vet Low to head new public sector biz at C2000

'New challenge' found at old employer

Channel veteran Cathi Low has returned to her old stomping ground at Computer 2000 to head up a newly assembled public sector team, months after quitting arch rival Ingram Micro to seek out a "new career challenge".

Low, who is set to become director of the public sector business unit, left C2000 in 2006 after 12 years on board, and joined Ingram as director of value business - a role she held until resigning in October.

Austerity measures mean the public sector is far from the high spending sector resellers enjoyed under the previous government, but C2000 is putting together a sales team to target dealer customers in that space.

"There are massive opportunities in the public sector, and it’s a market in which many resellers are looking for enablement support," Low said in a PR blurb sent to El Reg.

C2000 recently named former Dell exec Peter Hubbard as UK MD, succeeding former incumbent Andy Gass who moved into a European role.

"We are already working with a number of resellers on specific [public sector] opportunities and there are more in the pipeline," Hubbard said. ®
