Welsh gov splashes its cash on 10 lucky resellers

Cymru names IT suppliers in two-year deal

Ten resellers have won a place on the Welsh Assembly Government's (WAG) two-year framework for PCs and peripherals.

Following a tender for the IT Equipment and Associated Services agreement, Computacenter, Computerworld Wales, Kelway, Misco, Gaia Technologies, Viglen, Stone Computers, Softcat, XMA Computer Products and Desk Top Publishing Micro Systems made it through.

The contract for lot one covers desktops, notebooks and handheld devices while lot two includes printers, scanners and desktop storage devices, running for a couple of years but with two potential extensions for one year each.

Suppliers for two additional lots – servers and storage, and networking kit – have yet to be confirmed by the WAG.

A spokesperson for the Welsh government said: "All suppliers tendering were evaluated against a robust set of criteria, including technical expertise, performance and delivery, account and contract management, sustainability / environmental credentials and of course, value for money."

The expected value of the framework was not revealed. ®
