O2 becomes a reseller with 2e2 deal
Converging like its 1999
Mobile network O2 is teaming up with 2e2 to provide a full fleet of tech services to businesses.
O2 Unify will launch on 2 April. The mobile provider says that convergence is pushing customers to seek a single provider for technology and communication needs.
2e2 has been busy buying up UK channel companies, including Morse, in recent years.
The joint venture will be based in Slough and include 500 sales staff from launch. It will be run by Paul Osborne, currently O2's head of professional and managed services.
Osborne said about a third of current bids were for unified solutions.
The companies said it would target firms of all sizes for integration, cloud and remote working projects.
An internal announcement, seen by the Reg, said: "The Technology, Media and Telco (TMT) remains an incredibly important market for 2e2 and we will continue to sell to all clients within this vertical."
Both companies expect to see decent revenue from the deal in coming years.
