Mobile apps picked up

Google has bought LabPixies, an Israeli maker of casual games and "fun widgets" for mobile phones and websites, to strengthen iGoogle, its customisable homepage.

Google said the team will join its "ever-growing Tel Aviv office". LabPixies was one of the first developers to make products for iGoogle.

LabPixies said there no immediate plans to alter current products but this could change.

The company makes applications and games for the iPhone, MySpace, Orkut and Facebook.
