Dealer details slimline PS3 launch
Out next month?
Following months of speculation and the publication of a few blurred pictures, a videogame dealer has claimed that Sony will launch a slimline PlayStation 3 within weeks.
The anonymous dealer said that “the PS3 Slim is a reality” and that it’ll “soon emerge”, possibly during September. The mole warned French website JVN [no longer a gaming site - Ed] that Sony has yet to communicate a formal launch date to its retail partners.
Sony’s PS3 Slim will probably cost around €300 (£257/$424), the mole added, and include an 80GB HDD.
Back in May, pictures appeared online that supposedly showed the slimmer console’s body panels. Shortly afterward, a fellow advertised a “Playstation 3 Konsole slim” for sale through Amazon’s German website for €499 (£428/$706). ®
