Sun gets EMEA boss at last

Early Christmas present

Sun has finally found someone to take the reins of its European operation, just in time to sign this year’s Christmas card.

Alain Andreoli is to take over as senior vice president for EMEA. His 25-year tech CV includes a 14-year stint at TI, five years at StorageTek, and stings at McData and Verio. Most recently he was CEO at cc-hubwoo.

Sun bumped up previous EMEA boss Peter Ryan to be SVP for global sales for the Americas earlier this year.

The server vendor’s EMEA operations have been shepherded by Crawford Beveridge for the last five months. Beveridge will now be able to get back to his day job as EVP and chairman of EMEA, APAC and the Americas.

The firm’s had a few issues with senior EMEA staff of late. Earlier this year Trudy Norris-Grey quit as head of the UK arm. She was replaced within a week by UK veteran Kim Jones. ®
