Savastore becomes, er, Saverstore

Second coming...

UK-based Savastore.com has quietly re-opened its doors with a slightly different blink-and-you'll-miss-it name of Saverstore.com.

Watford Electronics, which ran Savastore.com, was acquired by Globally Ltd in February this year, at which point the website closed down with a message promising customers that service would be resumed soon.

The Savastore website now redirects to Saverstore.com where a statement says: "After a full review of business and technical processes, the site has been reopened under the new name, Saverstore.com."

Saverstore.com, which is located in Luton and is a channel reseller of IT goods, points all Savastore.com customers to individual brand manufacturers including Tiny, Aries and Techworks for any outstanding warranty queries.

It says the Savastore Savapoint scheme will be discontinued, but claims that "as a gesture of goodwill, we will be converting all Savapoints into Saverstore.com credit. Depending on the number of Savapoints you had accumulated when Savastore was acquired, your online Saverstore.com account will be credited with between £5 and £30."

Prior to Globally's acquisition of the firm, Watford Electronics was said to have in the region of £3.5m debts outstanding to its creditors.

But a call to Saverstore.com to determine the companies' current financial position proved fruitless.

According to one member of staff at the firm, anyone that might be able to provide more details about the website's re-launch is "probably on holiday until next Tuesday". ®
