Computacenter keeps BT contract

Five-year deal

Computacenter is today celebrating a five-year contract to supply BT with desktop services around the world.

The giant reseller will manage 112,000 BT desktop computers and related services.

BT and Computacenter have worked together for 13 years. The new contract promises BT cost savings year on year. Part of the deal is that Computacenter will buy back many of BT's current desktop machines. BT will pay a set monthly charge for services.

Computacenter said savings will be helped by use of its "Shared Services Factory" - essentially a collection of best practices from previous successful contracts.

The deal is Computacenter's largest service contract signed so far and will help the company hit market expectations.

BT said competitive costs and the ability to support its business across the world were the main reasons it chose Computacenter.
