QDI reveals VIA KT600 mobo

Chipset support 400MHz FSB Athlon XP

Mobo maker Legend QDI will ship a board based on VIA's as-yet-unannounced KT600 chipset, the company said today.

The board, called the QDI K7V600, will ship in July. It will apparently be based on the KT600 chipset, including the VT8327 Southbridge chip.

What separates the KT600 from the recently announced KT400A? Not much it seems, beyond the former's support for a 400MHz frontside bus.

QDI's spec. for the board is: 200/266/333/400MHz FSB, three DDR 400/333, ATX, one AGP 8x slot, five PCI slots, one CNR slot, ATA-133, Serial ATA, and eight USB 2.0 ports.

In May, QDI will ship the QDI KD 7X/400A based on the KT400A. Its spec. is: 200/266/333MHz FSB, three DDR 400/333, ATX, one AGP 8x slot, five PCI slots, one CNR slot, ATA-133 and eight USB 2.0 ports. ®
