Ex Grey Archers to picket Nomura

Want to 'make feelings known'

Former staff at pub trade dotcom Grey Archer, plan to demonstrate outside the offices of the company's backers in a bid to receive redundancy payments.

More than 100 former staff are ready to take direct action against Nomura, the Japanese investment bank and major shareholder in Grey Archer, as their fight for redundancy continues to draw a blank.

According to the Sunday Telegraph, they're also preparing to picket other high profile suits with links to the bank, including former Tory leader William Hague.

An announcement on a Web site set up by former Grey Archer staff says: "We will be writing a 'petition' asking Nomura to do the honourable thing and reverse their stance on not awarding ex-staff a proper redundancy package. I am also keen that we take this personally to Nomura's HQ to hand over as well as 'make our feelings known'.

Nomura pulled the plug on Grey Archer in July, forcing the company into liquidation.

All permanent members of staff were made redundant without notice and so far they've not received any payments in lieu of notice or any redundancy pay. ®
