Real streams for earthbound delegates

RealNetworks is streaming its annual conference for delegates who "may be prevented from travelling, but still want access to the content".

The Real Conference opens for business in Seattle on September 24 and 25 and costs $199.95 to access live. The ability to participate interactively is promised.

Real is to donate $25 to the New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund for every online and physical delegate for the conference.

With the transport analysts forecasting a precipitous fall in airline traffic, following last week's atrocities, we may expect to see many more streaming media initiatives to complement or replace live events. And many more people willing to pay for access. ®
