A new diagnostic tool for ATA hard drives hits the market this week Made by Quantum, this handheld device checks the health of all your systems.
The QTest-ATA determines whether or not an ATA hard drive is the cause of a system failure, so cutting down on unnecessary tests and repairs, and saving money, Quantum says.
The Qtest checks one drive at a time and connects via a 40-pin ribbon cable. Test results can be captured on a PDA, a serial printer or a laptop computer, and can be presented in a spreadsheet, to compare results from various drives.
