Sources close to Compa*'s plans tell us that the computer company has taken out a trademark on the 16th letter of the alphabet, which we dare not use here in case we breach its copyright. When Intel attempted the same with the letter i a few years ago, it did not succeed in its ambitions. Compa*'s decision might be a blow to all Scrabble players everywhere, except that we're told that it's just the stylised form of the letter "*" that is its *uest.
