Laptops stolen from the Football Association's London headquarters yesterday could compromise the England football team's security during the World Cup next June.
As well as several laptops, thieves also stole hard drives and thousands of disks, believed to include sensitive material such as bank details. The building was also broken into four months ago and computers nicked which contained the home address and telephone numbers of high-profile football players.
The laptops contained the World Cup squad's security plans and travel arrangements to Korea and Japan for the tournament. The building already has hi-tech security including CCTV and electronic doors. A spokesman said yesterday that the FA will upgrade it in response to the second burglary. ®
