Like cybersex and rolling in cash, says MSN
Single South African surfers are a good catch - young, into sex, and rolling in cash, a survey claims.
Around 53 per cent use the Net more than once a day, while a quarter of respondents to the MSN survey said they log on daily. Meanwhile, 18 per cent of South Africans have indulged in an online romance, and the most searched for item on the Web is, surprise, surprise: sex.
The average surfer is 18 to 35-years-old, with a monthly salary of R10,000 (£914.50) and disposable income as high as R5,000. Just over a third of respondents have shopped online - topping the US (27 per cent) and the ten per cent global average, ITWeb reports.
More than 12,500 netizens answered questions for the survey in July and August, no doubt keen to get their mitts on the new VW Beetle prize offered by MSN.
"We believe this means it represents the South African Internet user as a whole," said MSN marketing specialist Joanne Scholtz. ®
