LLU kimono tied too tight to get a good look

Reg needs your help

Dear Reader

It's come to our attention that some of you are mighty fed up with the coverage of Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) in Britain.

Frankly, it's dull. The issues involved are highly political and at times frighteningly technical - made worse because they're tied up in the most bindweed-like legalese and issues of compliance.

What's more, there appears to be raging a phoney war of words whereby some telco or another slags off BT and/or Oftel and then it's denied, ya-da-ya-da-ya-da.

This would be okay except that once they've had a pop they then return inside their shells and refuse to reveal any more...in a kind of cheeky, teasing, minx-like, coquettish kind of way.

Yet, Reg understands there could be some real fun and games going on, if you catch our drift.

So, we want your help to slip open the kimono of LLU so we can take a good look at what's underneath the satin printed robe.

We want independent-minded whistle-blowers - or the downright mischievous - to spill the beans on LLU. We want people in BT and Oftel to come clean about what's really going on within the incumbent and the incompetent. We want anyone within the telcos bidding for space in local exchanges to dish the dirt on what's really going down.

We want anything we can get our teeth into - memos, reports, rumours, lies...anything...just so that we can remove this prudish veil and see the goods.

You must understand, we're not requesting this because we're worried that unless the issue is opened up for public scrutiny it could ultimately affect the future of e-Britain. No, no, no, no. We just want to have something a little more saucy, a little more salacious than the tortuous stories about yet another telco whinging about BT, Oftel and LLU.

And because Reg wants to put a rocket up the arse of those involve to let them know people do care about the decision they're making.

Lots of love

Tim
