The Register » Software » Sony PlayStation emulator trial date setSix months from now, the case may finally be settledPublished Wednesday 6th September 2000 10:35 GMT Sony will finally get to challenge PlayStation emulator developer Connectix in court, but it's going to have to wait until March 2001 to do so. That's the date set by US District Judge Charles Legge for the jury trial, according to the San Francisco Daily Journal. The trial will seek to assess Sony's claims that Connectix violated the Japanese giant's trade secrets and engaged in acts of unfair competition. Allegations that Connectix infringed Sony's copyrights and six other related claims were dismissed by Judge Legge back in May. Since then, Sony has launched a separate patent infringement case against Connectix, dropped the suit, then refiled it to bring it to court more quickly. That case is also being presided over by Judge Legge. ® Related StoriesSony back on Connectix's case
