EB defaced in porn hack

Hackers posted some deeply unpleasant porn last night on the web site of a leading games retailer.

Electronics Boutique (EB) took down its Web site, built on the IIS Web server platform, for repairs
But surfers visiting its UK site early this morning were exposed to a full screen Windows popup of a Web site featuring pornographic images related to incest and underage sex.

In a statement Electronics Boutique said: "Our Web site www.eb.uk.com was the victim of a deliberate attack in the early hours of this morning. We would like to stress that only the homepage was affected and that no customer data was in any way impacted during this incident."

"We are taking this incident very seriously and have notified the police who are investigating the matter."

Electronics Boutique apologised to its customers for the temporary withdrawal of it services from its sites eb.uk.com and GAME.uk.com. It promised to do its "utmost to restore the sites' as quickly as possible." ®
