The bees knees

More and more UK businesses are embracing ecommerce, according to the latest survey from Continental Research.

In its Spring 2002 E-Commerce report, it found that four in ten businesses conducted some form of ecommerce.

In its latest Autumn report, that number had increased to five out of ten businesses, with the number of companies using ecommerce to process orders increasing from a fifth to a quarter. This suggests that companies are now more familiar with technology and becoming more confident and adventurous about using it to its full potential, said the report.

The Continental Research's Autumn 2002 E-Commerce Report also revealed that four in ten of the UK's 1.1m businesses now have their own Web site.

While business appears to be making greater use of the wired world, there are ongoing concerns about the Internet in the workplace.

Half of large companies surveyed said they were concerned about personal use of the Internet by their staff. ®
