Nominet UK takes legal action against DRS

'Passing off'

Published Tuesday 26th November 2002 12:06 GMT

Nominet UK has launched legal action against Domain Registrar Services Limited (DRS) amid allegations of trade mark infringement and passing off.

The legal action comes a week after it issued a formal warning concerning sales tactics of DRS. Nominet UK - the national registry for all domain names ending .uk - claimed DRS was using the Nominet name to make sales pitches sound credible.

In a statement Nominet UK said that it did not wish to comment further to avoid any prejudice to the case. ®
