Student selling everything he owns in world on eBay

John seems to be quite serious about it

A photography student has hit upon the idea of selling everything in the world that he owns. And to help him with the task, he has set up Web site www.allmylifeforsale.com.

So if you want John D. Freyer's bag of laundry bags, clip-on tie, Iowa City phone book, girl scout cookies and so on and so forth visit the site, click through to eBay and make a bid. Every item has a reserve price of $1. Some goods haven't made it. Most have however and although the site is rapidly gaining cult status, it has yet to turn people into gibbering idiots and prices are reassuringly low.

At first, we figured this was some form of lame self-promotion - which of course, it is - but John actually seems set on selling everything he owns, including his Apple laptop (blasphemy!). He may also be getting a little carried away with it all - he's now auctioning meals with friends and even an electricity bill (wants $433.66 for it) crops up. Easy, John.

Of course the main question is: Why? Then, of course, what the hell are you going to do with the money and what will you wear? John's not answering the phone but he sent us a quick email (before classes started). He's doing it "for lots of reasons" and as for the money "I haven't made much yet."

So there clears that up then. ®
