We're UnitedLinux – are you Ready?

Seeking partners

UnitedLinux, the collective of Linux distro wannabes, hasbeens and neverweres, has set up a testing and self-certification programme for Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).

ISVs who sign up for the UnitedLinux Ready get a free developer's copy for testing and validating their applications. Once certified, applications get to have a nice logo attached to their name and link on UnitedLinux member company web sites.

UnitedLinux comprises four companies which have banded together to attempt to break Red Hat's grip on the enterprise Linux market. The members are Connectivea, SuSE Linux, TurboLinux and...SCO. SCO, sticks out like a sore thumb somewhat, in light of its recent legal action against IBM. Who can forget the Linux-baiting antics of some SCO employees? Until this case is resolved, one must question the stability of the United Linux consortium. ®
