Microsoft has eyes on ball

A security expert speaks

Microsoft goes ton up for security bugs

You're not considered a fully-fledged Reg hack until somebody calls you a moron. It's now official that new boy John 'Lips' Leyden can wear the Vulture Central pin and employ the secret handshake. All he had to do was wind up Brian Uecker who believes that the fact that Microsoft was hacked last year is proof of its watchfulness:

Actually, moron, it would seem that the increase in fixes might better corollate to increased watchfulness and security-mindedness on Microsoft's part (it's pointless to compare fixes to the previous year, when IIS 5.0 didn't exist and IIS 4.0 had long been out and thoroughly debugged). But this is a possibility that hacks at Le Reg cannot cope with, it appears.

Instead of digging into the matter beyond reading some post on Slashdot (itself a joke of a site), simply sneer about a security community that you don't belong to and a product you don't have a clue about.

Better luck next time.
